Stay Informed: CSR-2 Filing Deadline Update

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has issued a new directive through Notification No. G.S.R. 587(E) dated 24th September 2024, outlining the requirements for CSR compliance reporting. Companies obligated under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) provisions are now required to submit their CSR report for the financial year 2023-2024 in e-Form CSR-2 by 31st December 2024, after filing the applicable AOC-4 form (AOC-4, AOC-4-NBFC, or AOC-4 XBRL).

This update builds upon earlier amendments to the Companies (Accounts) Rules, 2014. Initially, CSR-2 was introduced as an addendum to AOC-4, but changes made in 2023 required separate CSR-2 filings for FY 2022-23, with a deadline of 31st March 2024. The latest notification now applies to FY 2023-24, setting a December 2024 filing deadline.
